Cannondale E-Bike Service & Care

Mokwheel E-Bikes

Cannondale
Built To Ride.

Cannondale is an American brand with a reputation for innovative aluminum and carbon frames, and its Neo family of e-bikes spans city, trekking, gravel, and mountain use. Cannondale partners with leading drive-system makers rather than building its own motor, so its e-bikes run Bosch, Shimano, or Mahle systems depending on the model (mid-drive on most, lightweight hub-drive on some road/city bikes). Popular models include the Quick Neo and Adventure Neo (city/fitness), Tesoro Neo (trekking), Topstone Neo (gravel), and the Moterra Neo and Habit Neo mountain bikes; diagnostics and firmware are handled through the app tied to the bike's specific drive system.

Care & Coverage

Everything that keeps your Mokwheel rolling, backed by real people you can visit.

01

Charging

Use the original charger that came with the bike, plugged into a normal domestic socket; you can charge with the battery on or off the bike. A full charge typically takes several hours depending on battery size and charger.

02

Temperature limits

Bosch and similar batteries include a temperature monitor that only allows charging between about 0°C and 40°C, so charge at moderate temperatures for best results.

03

Battery storage

In winter or for long non-use, remove the battery and store it in a cool, dry place at a partial charge, then top it up periodically rather than letting it fully drain.

04

Tire pressure

Check pressure regularly and keep it within the tire's printed range for grip, range, and flat protection on a heavier bike.

05

Chain & drivetrain

Keep the chain clean and lubricated and watch drivetrain wear, which is faster under mid-drive torque.

06

Brakes

Inspect pads and lever feel routinely and service promptly given the extra weight and speed.

07

Initial & periodic checkups

Cannondale's owner's manuals recommend an initial dealer check-up after the first break-in distance (roughly the first ~150 km), then regular detailed inspections at longer intervals (about every ~1000 km), covering the drive-assist system and drivetrain condition.

08

Cleaning & firmware

Clean with a damp cloth and mild cleaner (no high-pressure hose), and keep the drive system's firmware current through the appropriate Bosch, Shimano, or Mahle app.

Frequently Asked

Answers to the questions we hear most from riders.

Do you service Cannondale e-bikes?
Yes. As an all-brands independent shop we service the Quick Neo, Adventure Neo, Tesoro Neo, Topstone Neo, and Moterra/Habit Neo, including tune-ups, drivetrain, brakes, wheels, and diagnostics on the bike's Bosch, Shimano, or Mahle system.
How do I know which motor system my Cannondale uses, and can you diagnose it?
We can identify the system from the motor and display and run the matching diagnostics. Cannondale uses Bosch, Shimano, or Mahle depending on model and year, and we read out error codes and check the motor, battery, and controller regardless of which one you have.
Can you update the firmware on my Cannondale e-bike?
Yes. Firmware updates through the app for your specific drive system (for example the Bosch eBike Flow app on Bosch-equipped models), and we can update and verify it during a service visit.
How do warranty and parts work since motors are third-party?
Wear items like tires, chains, pads, and cables we source normally. Because the drive systems are made by Bosch, Shimano, or Mahle, motor and battery warranty claims run through Cannondale's and those makers' authorized channels, so we diagnose the fault and point you to the right path.
How often should my Cannondale e-bike be serviced?
Cannondale suggests an initial check-up after the first break-in miles and regular detailed inspections after that. For most riders that means a tune-up once or twice a year, sooner with high mileage or wet and muddy riding.
Is it okay to charge and store the battery indoors over winter?
Yes. Charge with the original charger in a dry area at moderate temperature, and for winter storage remove the battery and keep it in a cool, dry place at a partial charge, topping it up periodically.
