Gazelle E-Bike Service & Care
Mokwheel E-Bikes
Gazelle
Built To Ride.
Royal Dutch Gazelle is a heritage Netherlands brand known for comfortable, upright city and touring e-bikes built for everyday commuting and long-term reliability. Gazelle e-bikes run Bosch mid-drive systems, including the Active Line Plus, Performance Line, and the newer Bosch Smart System, paired with Bosch PowerPack or PowerTube batteries. Popular models include the Ultimate, Medeo, Arroyo, Avignon, and Eclipse; rider settings, range info, and firmware updates are handled through the Bosch eBike Flow app (or older Bosch displays and apps).
What You Get
Care & Coverage
Everything that keeps your Mokwheel rolling, backed by real people you can visit.
Charging
Charge with the original Bosch charger in a dry area, ideally near a working smoke detector, and preferably at room temperature. Keep the charge port clean and dry.
Battery storage
Store the battery at roughly a 30–60% charge in a dry room at room temperature, away from combustible or flammable materials, and don't leave it fully drained. Keep it indoors where temperatures stay fairly consistent.
Temperature care
Batteries dislike extreme heat and cold. For winter riding, charge and store the battery indoors and fit it just before you ride.
Tire pressure
Check pressure at least every other week and keep it within the tire's printed range for grip, comfort, range, and flat protection.
Chain & drivetrain
Keep the chain clean and lubricated (Gazelle city bikes often use a chain guard or belt), and monitor drivetrain wear, which is accelerated under mid-drive torque.
Brakes
Inspect pads and lever feel routinely and service promptly given the added weight and speed of a loaded city e-bike.
Cleaning & bolts
Wash with a damp cloth and mild cleaner (never a high-pressure hose), and periodically check that key bolts are secure and torqued to spec.
Firmware & professional service
Keep the Bosch system's firmware current through the eBike Flow app, and have persistent error codes read out with genuine Bosch diagnostic tools at a qualified shop, which is also needed for drive-system setup and checks.
