Gazelle
Built To Ride.

Royal Dutch Gazelle is a heritage Netherlands brand known for comfortable, upright city and touring e-bikes built for everyday commuting and long-term reliability. Gazelle e-bikes run Bosch mid-drive systems, including the Active Line Plus, Performance Line, and the newer Bosch Smart System, paired with Bosch PowerPack or PowerTube batteries. Popular models include the Ultimate, Medeo, Arroyo, Avignon, and Eclipse; rider settings, range info, and firmware updates are handled through the Bosch eBike Flow app (or older Bosch displays and apps).

Care & Coverage

Everything that keeps your Mokwheel rolling, backed by real people you can visit.

01

Charging

Charge with the original Bosch charger in a dry area, ideally near a working smoke detector, and preferably at room temperature. Keep the charge port clean and dry.

02

Battery storage

Store the battery at roughly a 30–60% charge in a dry room at room temperature, away from combustible or flammable materials, and don't leave it fully drained. Keep it indoors where temperatures stay fairly consistent.

03

Temperature care

Batteries dislike extreme heat and cold. For winter riding, charge and store the battery indoors and fit it just before you ride.

04

Tire pressure

Check pressure at least every other week and keep it within the tire's printed range for grip, comfort, range, and flat protection.

05

Chain & drivetrain

Keep the chain clean and lubricated (Gazelle city bikes often use a chain guard or belt), and monitor drivetrain wear, which is accelerated under mid-drive torque.

06

Brakes

Inspect pads and lever feel routinely and service promptly given the added weight and speed of a loaded city e-bike.

07

Cleaning & bolts

Wash with a damp cloth and mild cleaner (never a high-pressure hose), and periodically check that key bolts are secure and torqued to spec.

08

Firmware & professional service

Keep the Bosch system's firmware current through the eBike Flow app, and have persistent error codes read out with genuine Bosch diagnostic tools at a qualified shop, which is also needed for drive-system setup and checks.

Frequently Asked

Answers to the questions we hear most from riders.

Do you service Gazelle e-bikes?
Yes. As an all-brands independent shop we service the Ultimate, Medeo, Arroyo, Avignon, and Eclipse, including tune-ups, drivetrain (chain or belt), brakes, wheels, and Bosch drive-system diagnostics.
Can you diagnose the Bosch motor and battery?
We can. We connect to the Bosch drive unit with genuine diagnostic tools to read error codes and check the motor, battery, display, and wiring. Many assist complaints turn out to be a sensor, connector, or firmware issue rather than a failed motor, and we'll be straight with you if a part needs a warranty channel.
Can you update the Bosch firmware on my Gazelle?
Yes. Bosch firmware and settings update through the eBike Flow app (or the appropriate Bosch app for older systems), and we can bring your motor and display up to current software during a service.
How do warranty and parts work if I didn't buy the bike here?
Wear items like tires, chains, belts, pads, and cables we source normally. Bosch motor and battery and Gazelle frame warranty claims run through the authorized network, so we diagnose the fault and point you to the correct warranty path.
How often should my Gazelle e-bike be serviced?
For daily commuters, a tune-up once or twice a year is a good baseline, sooner for high mileage or wet-weather riding. We also recommend a check after the first break-in miles to re-check spokes, bolts, brakes, and shifting.
Is it safe to charge and store the battery indoors?
Yes, done sensibly: charge with the original Bosch charger in a dry area near a smoke detector, store the battery at a partial charge and moderate temperature, and keep it away from flammable materials.
