Himiway E-Bike Service & Care

Mokwheel E-Bikes

Himiway
Built To Ride.

Himiway is best known for rugged, long-range fat-tire e-bikes and all-terrain models such as the Cruiser, Zebra, and the newer D5 and D7/Cobra and A7 lines, along with cargo, step-thru, and folding options. Their bikes typically use brushless geared hub motors (commonly 750W) paired with UL-certified, brand-name lithium-ion cells and larger-capacity batteries aimed at extended range. Himiway markets toward comfort, hauling, and rough-terrain riding, so their heavier fat-tire builds put steady demand on tires, drivetrain, brakes, and suspension.

Care & Coverage

Everything that keeps your Mokwheel rolling, backed by real people you can visit.

01

Battery charging

Recharge the battery fully as soon as practical after use rather than storing it depleted, and turn the system off when the battery is low. Avoid draining the pack completely, which shortens its life.

02

Battery storage

For long idle periods, store the battery charged (Himiway guidance points to keeping it in a safe mid-to-high state and topping it up about once a month). Keep it in a dry, ventilated spot away from open flame, high heat, and direct sunlight; the ideal charging temperature range is roughly 10-25°C (50-77°F).

03

Tire pressure

Fat tires still need regular pressure checks against the sidewall range. Correct inflation improves handling, ride comfort, range, and tire life on these heavier bikes.

04

Chain & drivetrain

Clean the chain after each ride, especially in wet or muddy conditions, using a dry cloth or brush (warm soapy water if needed) and avoiding harsh acidic or alkaline cleaners. Once the chain is dry, apply lubricant to the key wear points and wipe off excess.

05

Motor care

The hub motor generally needs no special maintenance, but check that it is secure on the axle and tighten any loose axle nuts or screws. Note that hub motors are not waterproof, so avoid riding through water deeper than the lower edge of the wheel hub.

06

Suspension fork

Wipe the fork stanchions and dust seals clean with a lint-free cloth after dusty or wet rides to reduce wear, and consider a dust cover for protection. Have the fork professionally serviced periodically.

07

Bolts & fasteners

Regularly inspect and tighten loose screws and nuts, particularly around the motor axle, brakes, and handlebar/stem, since vibration on rough terrain can loosen hardware over time.

08

Service intervals

Do quick pre-ride checks of tires, brakes, and battery, and schedule a professional tune-up periodically (more often with heavy off-road or wet-weather use). Consult your model's owner's manual for model-specific guidance.

Frequently Asked

Answers to the questions we hear most from riders.

My Himiway fat-tire bike feels sluggish or the range dropped. What should I check?
On heavy fat-tire bikes, low tire pressure is a very common cause of sluggishness and reduced range, followed by a dirty or dry drivetrain and cold-weather battery loss. We can set proper pressures, service the drivetrain, and test the battery's health to find the real culprit.
I rode through deep water and now the motor acts up. Can you fix it?
Possibly. Himiway hub motors are not fully waterproof, and water above the hub can cause faults. Bring it in and we will inspect the motor, connectors, and controller for moisture or corrosion, dry and clean the connections, and advise whether any component needs replacement.
Do you service the suspension fork on my Himiway?
Yes. We clean and inspect the stanchions and dust seals, check for proper action and any oil weeping, and perform or recommend a fuller fork service as needed. Keeping the fork clean is important on these bikes because grit accelerates seal and stanchion wear.
How do I care for the battery over winter, and can you help?
Store it indoors in a dry spot, keep it partially-to-well charged, and top it up roughly monthly rather than leaving it drained. We can check the pack's state of health before and after storage and confirm the charger is working correctly.
Can you replace worn brake pads and the chain on my Himiway?
Absolutely. Heavier bikes wear pads and chains faster, so we check pad thickness, rotor condition, and chain stretch, then fit correct replacement parts and adjust everything for safe, firm braking and clean shifting.
I bought my Himiway secondhand with no manual. Can you still service it?
Yes. As an independent shop we service all Himiway models regardless of age or where they were purchased. We can identify your motor, battery, and components, and match the correct parts and torque specs for your bike.
