Lectric E-Bike Service & Care

Mokwheel E-Bikes

Lectric eBikes
Built To Ride.

Lectric eBikes is an Arizona-based brand that became one of the best-selling e-bike makers in the U.S. by focusing on affordable, ready-to-ride folding and utility models. Their best known bikes are the XP series folding fat-tire e-bikes (XP 3.0, XP Lite, and the newer XP4), along with the XPeak (off-road), XPress (commuter), and XPedition (cargo). Most use rear geared hub motors with lithium-ion battery packs that include electronic cell protection, and an LCD/LED display; Lectric keeps its owner's manuals online so they stay current.

Care & Coverage

Everything that keeps your Mokwheel rolling, backed by real people you can visit.

01

Battery charging

Charge only within the permitted temperature range. Once the charger light turns green, disconnect the charger from the battery and the wall. If the bike has an in-frame charge port, reseat the rubber plug after charging so no dirt or water enters the port.

02

Battery storage

Store the lithium-ion pack indoors in a cool, dry place at a partial (mid-range) charge for long periods, and top it up periodically rather than leaving it fully drained. Follow the Lithium-Ion Battery Safety Manual for charging, removal, and storage.

03

Tire pressure

Check pressure before each ride against the range on the tire sidewall. The XP fat tires run relatively low pressure, so verify against the specific tire; correct pressure improves range and helps prevent flats on folding-bike wheels.

04

Chain & drivetrain

Clean and lubricate the chain with bicycle chain lube and wipe off excess. On folding models, also inspect the folding joints and hinges, and keep the drivetrain free of road grit.

05

Brakes

Check lever feel and pad wear regularly. Many Lectric models use hydraulic or mechanical disc brakes; replace pads before they're worn out and make sure rotors are true and uncontaminated, especially since these bikes are heavy.

06

Bolt & torque checks

Verify stem, handlebar, seatpost, axle, and — importantly on folders — the folding-hinge and latch hardware are secure per the owner's manual. Re-check after the first rides and after folding/transporting the bike frequently.

07

Cleaning & firmware

Wipe down with a damp cloth and mild cleaner; never pressure-wash or spray the battery, motor, display, or connectors. Check for any display/controller settings or updates noted in your model's online manual.

08

Service intervals

A professional tune-up every few months or few hundred miles keeps brakes, drivetrain, folding hardware, and fasteners in good shape; daily commuters and cargo riders should service more often.

Frequently Asked

Answers to the questions we hear most from riders.

Do you service Lectric eBikes?
Yes. We service the full Lectric lineup, including the XP folding models, XPeak, XPress, and XPedition — tune-ups, brake and drivetrain service, flats, folding-hinge checks, and electrical diagnostics.
My Lectric won't turn on — what's wrong?
Usually it's a battery that's low, not fully seated, or switched off, or the display not being powered on correctly. We'll check the battery charge and connection, the charger, connectors, and display; if the pack or controller has failed we can diagnose it and help you source a genuine replacement.
How often should I service my Lectric?
For most riders, a tune-up every few months or few hundred miles is a good baseline, sooner if you ride daily, fold and transport it often, or ride in wet conditions. Folding models especially benefit from periodic hinge and fastener checks.
Are Lectric bikes waterproof?
They're water-resistant and rated for riding in rain, but not waterproof. Don't submerge the bike or spray the battery, motor, and connectors directly, and reseat the charge-port plug and dry the bike after wet rides.
Can you get Lectric replacement parts?
Common wear items (pads, tires, tubes, chains, cables) are standard and easy for us to stock or order. Brand-specific batteries, displays, and controllers are sourced through Lectric's parts channel; we'll identify the exact component your model needs.
Is my folding hinge safe to keep using if it feels loose?
No — a loose fold joint or latch is a safety issue and should be checked before riding. Bring it in; we'll inspect and adjust the hinge, latch, and hardware to the manufacturer's spec so it locks solidly.
