Mokwheel E-Bikes

Magnum
Built To Ride.

Magnum Bikes is a Salt Lake City-headquartered brand known for premium urban, commuter, and cruiser e-bikes with a strong dealer and US-based service network, including models such as the Metro, Peak, Cosmo, Pathfinder, and Ranger. Their bikes use advanced lithium-ion (Li-NCM) batteries with an active battery management system (BMS), hub motors, integrated displays, and a company emphasis on UL certification (UL 2271 and UL 2849). Magnum positions itself around reliability and safety, with batteries rated for roughly 700-1000 charge cycles (about two to five years of typical use).

Care & Coverage

Everything that keeps your Mokwheel rolling, backed by real people you can visit.

01

Battery charging

Charge before the pack drops much below 30%, and unplug once it reaches roughly 80-100% rather than leaving it on the charger after it is full. Let the battery cool and rest a few minutes after a ride before charging, and don't ride immediately after unplugging from the charger.

02

Battery storage & temperature

Store the battery around room temperature (about 68°F/20°C); if the storage area is much hotter or colder, bring the battery indoors. Do not charge or use a hot battery, and know that cold weather temporarily reduces range.

03

Keep the battery dry

The pack has a sealed, waterproof cover for riding, but never pressure-wash the bike or battery, since high-pressure water can breach the seals. Store the bike indoors and remove the battery before transporting the bike on a car rack.

04

Tire pressure

Check tire pressure regularly and inflate to the sidewall range for efficient rolling, better handling, and consistent range.

05

Chain & drivetrain

Keep the chain and drivetrain clean and lightly lubricated with a bike-specific lubricant; wipe off excess to avoid attracting grit that accelerates wear.

06

Brakes

Inspect brake pads and rotors periodically, confirm firm and even engagement, and replace worn pads. Use Magnum's Troubleshooting FAQ or a shop for any braking that feels weak or noisy.

07

Bolts & general checks

Periodically check that fasteners and controls are tight and inspect connectors for corrosion, especially after wet rides. Only use the charger that came with your Magnum, matched to the battery's voltage.

08

Service & replacement

Magnum provides model manuals, assembly videos, and a help center. When the battery holds noticeably less range (around 80% of original after its rated cycle life), consider a UL Listed, model-specific replacement rather than a mismatched aftermarket pack.

Frequently Asked

Answers to the questions we hear most from riders.

How long should my Magnum battery last, and how do I know it's time to replace it?
Magnum rates their batteries at roughly 700 cycles to about 80% capacity, and with good care many owners get 800-1000 cycles (about two to five years). The main sign of a worn battery is steadily shorter range. We can test the pack's state of health and confirm whether it's genuinely worn before you invest in a replacement.
Can I use any replacement battery in my Magnum?
We strongly recommend a Magnum-specific, UL Listed replacement matched to your model and voltage. Some aftermarket packs share connectors but differ in polarity or specs, which can be unsafe and voids UL certification. We'll verify compatibility before fitting anything.
My Magnum's display shows an error or the motor won't engage. Can you help?
Yes. We can read the code, check the battery contacts and BMS behavior, and inspect the controller, motor, and wiring harness. Magnum also publishes a troubleshooting FAQ, but for anything beyond a simple reseat or reset, we can diagnose and repair it here.
I pressure-washed my bike and now the battery acts strange. What happened?
Pressure washing can force water past the battery's seals and damage the internal cells or connections. Bring it in and we'll inspect the battery housing, contacts, and electrical connectors for moisture and corrosion and advise on next steps.
Do you service Magnum bikes if I'm not near a Magnum dealer?
Absolutely. As an independent shop we service all Magnum models, in or out of warranty. We handle brake, drivetrain, tire, and electrical work, and can source correct replacement parts for your specific model.
How should I store my Magnum over winter?
Keep the bike indoors and store the battery near room temperature at a partial-to-healthy charge, topping it up periodically. Avoid freezing temperatures and moisture. We're happy to check the battery's health before and after the off-season.
