Ride1Up
Built To Ride.

Ride1Up is a San Diego-based, direct-to-consumer brand known for value-oriented commuter and city e-bikes that offer strong components for the price. Popular models include the Core-5 and 500 Series (commuter/city), the 700 Series and LMT'D (higher-spec commuters), the Cafe Cruiser, the Roadster (lightweight belt-drive), the Prodigy (mid-drive), and the Revv 1 (moto-style). Depending on model they use rear hub motors or a mid-drive, paired with removable lithium-ion batteries and an LCD display with error codes.

Care & Coverage

Everything that keeps your Mokwheel rolling, backed by real people you can visit.

01

Battery charging

A full charge typically takes about 3–6 hours with the supplied charger. For longer battery life, Ride1Up suggests avoiding constant 0–100% cycles; charging to around 80% and running down to about 20% is easier on the cells for everyday use.

02

Battery storage

For storage of a week or more, keep the pack at roughly 40–80% charge, check it about once a month, and if it drops to ~25% or lower, recharge back into the 40–80% band. Store indoors in a cool, dry place.

03

Tire pressure

Check pressure before rides against the range printed on the tire sidewall (commuter tires higher, cruiser/fat tires lower). Correct pressure protects range, comfort, and rims and reduces flats.

04

Chain & drivetrain

Clean and lubricate the chain with bicycle chain lube and wipe off excess; belt-drive models (e.g., Roadster) need the belt kept clean instead. Inspect the drivetrain for wear and keep it free of grit.

05

Brakes

Check lever feel and pad wear regularly. Ride1Up's manuals stress verifying brake functionality before every ride; replace pads before they're worn and confirm rotors are true, especially on the heavier and faster models.

06

Bolt & torque checks

Ride1Up specifically calls out checking that axle nuts and important connections are secure before riding, and re-checking key fasteners (stem, bars, seatpost) to the manual's spec after assembly and periodically.

07

Cleaning & parts

Wipe down with a damp cloth and mild cleaner — never pressure-wash or spray the battery, motor, display, or connectors. Ride1Up advises always using genuine replacement parts and removing the battery before doing any maintenance.

08

Service intervals

Ride1Up recommends routine pre-ride checks plus periodic deeper maintenance; a professional tune-up every few months or few hundred miles keeps brakes, drivetrain, spokes, and fasteners safe, more often for daily commuters.

Frequently Asked

Answers to the questions we hear most from riders.

Do you service Ride1Up bikes?
Yes. We service the whole Ride1Up range — Core-5, 500/700 Series, LMT'D, Cafe Cruiser, Roadster, Prodigy, and Revv 1 — including tune-ups, brake and drivetrain (chain or belt) service, flats, and electrical diagnostics.
My Ride1Up won't turn on — what's wrong?
Check that the battery is charged, switched on, and fully seated, and that important connectors and the display cable are secure. If the bike shows an error code on the display, that points to a specific fault; bring it in and we'll read the code and check the battery, charger, connectors, and controller.
How often should I service my Ride1Up?
Ride1Up recommends routine checks (brakes, axle nuts, connections) before rides, plus periodic deeper maintenance. For most riders a professional tune-up every few months or few hundred miles works well, sooner for daily commuting or wet-weather riding.
What does the error code on my display mean?
Ride1Up manuals list display error codes for the electrical system (for example, sensor, controller, or communication faults). We can look up the code for your specific model, diagnose the underlying cause, and recommend a repair or genuine replacement part.
Are Ride1Up bikes water resistant?
Yes for normal riding in rain, but they're not waterproof. Avoid submersion and don't spray water directly at the battery, motor, display, or connectors; remove the battery before deep cleaning and dry the bike after wet rides.
Can you source Ride1Up parts?
Standard wear items (pads, tires, tubes, chains, belts, cables) we stock or order easily. Brand-specific batteries, displays, and controllers come through Ride1Up's parts channel, and they recommend genuine parts; we'll identify the exact component for your model.
