Velotric E-Bike Service & Care
Mokwheel E-Bikes
Velotric
Built To Ride.
Velotric is a rider-friendly e-bike brand known for approachable, well-equipped commuter, cruiser, folding, and fat-tire models such as the Discover, Nomad, Fold, Summit, Tempo, and T1 lines. Their bikes typically pair rear hub or mid-drive motors with UL-certified lithium-ion batteries (commonly 48V packs), five-level pedal assist plus throttle, and hydraulic disc brakes. Velotric emphasizes safety certification (UL 2271 batteries, UL 2849 systems) and an easy ownership experience, making their bikes a common sight for everyday commuting and light off-road riding.
What You Get
Care & Coverage
Everything that keeps your Mokwheel rolling, backed by real people you can visit.
Battery charging
Charge after rides so the pack is ready to go, but avoid deep 100% discharges. Velotric recommends shallower cycles (for example, topping up from around 50% to 80%) to protect longevity, and never leaving the bike charging unattended overnight or for extended periods.
Battery storage
Store the battery in a cool, dry place at a partial charge if the bike will sit unused, and keep it away from extreme heat or cold. Remove the battery before washing the bike to protect it from water.
Tire pressure
Check pressure before rides and inflate to the range printed on the tire sidewall. Proper inflation improves handling and range and reduces strain on the motor and battery.
Chain & drivetrain
Keep the chain and drivetrain (chain, cranks, sprockets, derailleur) clean; wipe with a lint-free cloth, then apply a bike-specific chain lubricant and wipe off excess so grit does not build up.
Brakes
Velotric bikes commonly use hydraulic disc brakes (Shimano on many models). Inspect pads and rotors regularly, test for firm, even stopping, and keep cleaning products and oils off the discs.
Bolts & loose parts
Do a quick pre-ride check for loose brake levers, knobs, fasteners, and electrical connectors, especially after riding rough terrain; tighten as needed.
Cleaning & connections
Wipe the frame down after rides and wash with a low-pressure hose or bucket, never a pressure washer. Check wiring connectors and junction points for moisture or corrosion, particularly after wet rides.
Service intervals
Velotric suggests a professional tune-up at least once a year, and roughly every three to four months (about every 1,000 miles) for riders logging heavy weekly mileage. Always check tire pressure, loose parts, and battery charge before every ride.
